One of the most loved and festive drinks of all time has got to be sangria! Originally from the Iberian Peninsula, sangria is a wine-based drink made of spices and fruit that varies from region to region. This is a drink which seems to be love at first sip among many. If you take a trip to Spain, you simply must order sangria. And if you don’t get to make it to Spain, create a bit of Spain in your very own kitchen with this Sangria recipe. Prep Time: 30 minutes Servings: 8 Ingredients: 1 liter of wine 1 pound of oranges ½ pound of apples 1 pound of peaches 17 ounces of seltzer ½ cup sugar ¼ cup cognac ¼ pounds of lemon 1 pound of ice 2 sticks of cinnamon 1 stick of vanilla 5 cloves Preparation: Sangria is as irresistible as it is easy to prepare. First squeeze one orange and one lemon. Then cut the remaining oranges and lemons into cubes and slices. Slice the peaches and apples and be sure to remove their cores. When you are finished cutting the fruit, pour a liter of red wine in a bowl. Add the sugar, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla seeds, orange juice and lemon juice. Mix gently. Add the chopped fruit. Pour the cognac and let the sangria rest in the refrigerator covered with plastic wrap. Let sit for a whole night to properly enhance the flavors. Just before serving, add your seltzer and ice and mix gently. Enjoy!
