There is nothing better to impress your friends than a pulled pork platter to bring to potluck dinners, and here is a Pulled Pork Recipe with Carolina Sauce to do just that! It is a dish that takes plenty of time to make, but if you start it early in the day or the day before and use a crockpot, all you will really have to do is the prep work. Preparation for Pulled Pork Recipe with Carolina Sauce

Put your chopped onions in the crockpot or slow cooker. Add your pork butt into the crockpot and sprinkle with salt, pepper, paprika, dry mustard and liquid smoke. In a large bowl, mix your mustard, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar and onion powder. Mix well and pour over the pork in the crockpot. Place lid of crockpot and cook for 8 to 10 hours. When it is fully cooked and tender, take the pork out of the crockpot and place in a large pan. Take a fork to the pork and begin shredding, or rather “pulling” the pork until it is completely shredded. Add the remaining liquids from the crockpot, and if desired strain the liquid, leaving the onions behind. Serve with buns to make sandwiches. Enjoy! Wine Pairing for Pulled Pork: The best wines to pair with this tangy, pork based dish are wines made of grape varieties such as Aglianico, Sangiovese, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. So, go ahead and pair your pulled pork with a Chianti Classico or even a Brunello di Montalcino.
