There is just one thing missing from the equation – a white wine emoji!
We love red wine but it’s about time we do text message justice to some of our favorite wines like Chardonnay, Soave, Gerwusterminer and all the white wines of the world! If you think this is a cause worth fighting for, you may want to take part in the petition.
Yep, there is a petition to get a white wine emoji onto our smartphone keyboards, started by Kendall-Jackson. The request for a white wine emoji has been submitted and accepted for review by the Unicode Consortium and every vote count, so go ahead and vote for white wine.
In honor of the and movement, we want you to share your white wine photos and stories using the hashtag #whitewineemoji and contribute to the conversation. Now it may seem a bit exaggerated to create a whole movement around a white wine emoji but typically white wine is overshadowed by its rich colored, red counterpart so much so that studies often show that red wine is the drink of choice to most Americans though often wines such as Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay seem to slowly be taking top place when it comes to favorite wine to order.
So, it’s about time to be able to communicate our preferences via an emoticon! If approved, the emoticon won’t be available until 2019, so until then we will have to wait… and in the meantime perhaps we can start the revolution on rosé!
