Vermentino & Melon
The perfect combination for a light summer snack would have to be the classic Italian Valcolomba Vermentino della Maremma Toscana DOC and either cantaloupe or honeydew melon. The subtle sweet, honeyed flavors of this wine are brought to life even further with every taste of melon.
The minerality of a chardonnay grape, coupled with the acidity of the Sauvignon in a wine like Dogajolo Toscano Bianco IGT makes for an interesting combination when paired with apples. The texture alone of the apple is also part of the winning combo.
Take a wine like Carpineto’s Dogajolo Toscano Rosato IGT and pair it with a bowl of sour cherries, and you have a summer night to remember.
Try a Farnito Chardonnay IGT with a few raspberries nearby to pop as snacks, and you will not be disappointed. The subtle fruit flavors of this wine will soon become much less than subtle.
Though this sparkling wine is typically paired with heavier fare if pair a Spumante Brut wine with a ripened yellow peach, you are sure to notice the textures and flavors pair perfectly.
Enjoy your summer in company or on your own with two of our favorites - wine and fruit!
